If you want to do the installation yourself, here are the tools you will need:

  • Awl
  • Saw
  • Power drill
  • Philips Head Screw Driver
  • ½ inch and 1/16 inch drill bits
  • Adjustable pliers
  • Tape measure
  • Hammer
  • Pencil

To take the installation up as a DIY, you need the following parts and equipment:

  • Phillips driver, drill, and drill bits of 1/8 and 9/32 inches
  • A pencil
  • Stepladder
  • Hammer and hacksaw
  • An L-shaped square
  • Adjustable pliers
  • Tape measure
  • Supporting boards and shims
  • Deck screws
